We’ve all heard the saying, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’ Well, no matter how hard we may try, it’s impossible not to judge a book by its cover so you better do a phenomenal job wrapping your Christmas presents this year, or no one’s going to your present come Christmas morning. But if you haven’t had a lot of experience wrapping, this can be quite the challenge. You’ll need to be both meticulous and creative if you want your gift to standout above all of the rest. Follow my directions below and you’ll have the most beautiful presents under the tree this year.

1. All right, first things first. You need to have all of the proper wrapping supplies before you can even think of sitting down and beginning the whole process. The essentials are boxes, wrapping paper, bows, glue and scissors.  You will also need a large comfortable space to sit when you are ready to start.

2. Next pick out a box to wrap that RC plane you bought your little brother. Next lay the box down on top of the wrapping paper and cut a piece that is big enough to cover the entire box. If you aren’t sure how large the sheet of paper should be, a good rule of thumb is that it should be four times the length of the box and three times the width.

3. Now start the wrapping. It’s easiest if you begin with the longer edges of the box and fold the paper up tightly all the way around. You should attach the first edge to the box with a piece of tape before moving on to the other sides.

4. Next fold the edges of the two ends to make a wing shape. Make sure that you are making tight creases, as this will give your present a neater overall look.

5. Then fold the tips of the wings down and tuck them underneath. Then attach them securely with a piece of tape.

6. The final touch is to add a coordinating bow. If your present didn’t turnout exactly the way you’d hoped, then the bigger the bow is, the better. A great bow can hide even the most hideous wrapping jobs, so invest in as many as you can if you’re new to this process.

Well there you have it. Not get to work and don’t give up until your presents look perfect. A beautifully wrapped gift can make up for a really terrible gift, so you definitely will need to focus your energy on aesthetics this year if you’re short on cash.
